We’ve just spotted a definite addition to The Weekenders diary for 2012 - the World Pasty Championships. Screw the new year diet, our mouths are watering at the thought of it!
The first event of its kind, the Championships will be held, appropriately, in Cornwall - at the Eden Project to be precise - on Saturday 3rd March, with the enthusiastic backing of the esteemed Cornish Pasty Association. Organisers are inviting bakers from Cornwall and all over the world, both professional and amateur, to enter their pastry packages of deliciousness and there will be plenty of opportunities for non-bakers to tuck in too.
Get warmed up with this brilliant pasty flick from the Cornish Pasty Association. You never know, you might be inspired to get baking (or to pop down to Greggs).
